Tamera Mowry was understandably absent from “The Real” following the death of her niece, Alaina Housley but her co-hosts made sure to pay tribute to her on the show. Loni was especially informative to viewers since she was the person Tamera called during the tragic night.

RECOUNTING THE EVENTS OF THAT TRAGIC NIGHT

Loni recalls getting several missed calls from Tamera at 1:30 am before they finally connected and she learned about Alaina. Tamera told her that her niece was missing in relation to the Thousand Oaks shooting.

“She was frantic,” described Loni of Tamera which prompted her to rush over to her house. She recalled helping her co-host look through reports while her husband, Adam Housley went to the crime scene to locate their niece.

After calling hospitals for possible information, Loni said Tamera got hold of one of Alana’s suitemates who informed her that her niece had been dancing at the bar when she decided to take her seat. When the gunfire started, her suitemates were able to escape. However, they had no idea what happened to Alaina. They would later learn that she was killed.

A MESSAGE FROM TAMERA

After Loni's account, Adrienne Houghton was in tears when she shared a message from Tamera for Loni.

"Loni, Tamera actually wanted me to say something that she wrote for you," Adrienne began, while fighting back tears.

"She said, 'Please tell Loni, thank you. Thank you for being there for me and answering her phone at 1 am. For giving me hope…until I got the call. Thank you for holding me and helping me breathe through the unthinkable. Thank you for always believing in the Housleys. The Housleys will be strong. We will never let Alaina or any other victim of gun violence die in vain.‘"

Adrienne added that Tamera vowed to “do everything she can to make sure that our children and our community feels safe."

“She said, “Enough is enough,” the tearful co-host relayed.

"She said she will never give up fighting until her dying day."

IN SUPPORT OF TAMERA

When news of Alaina’s death broke, Tamera’s co-hosts offered their condolences in a joint statement.

Separately, the co-hosts also extended their sympathies and offered prayers to Tamera and her family and to all the victims of the massacre. It may be a while before things return to normal in “The Real” or for Tamera to return but she can always be assured of her co-host’s support through this ordeal.
