Former Vice President Joe Biden adopted a German shepherd named Major from the Delaware Humane Association. The Association shared pics, shown below, of the two spending time together.

The Delaware Humane Association was founded in 1957. They are a nonprofit no-kill animal care and adoption center. The association aims to provide for the needs of homeless and owned dogs and cats in the community.

One of the animals they were caring for was a puppy named Major. He was one of six puppies given to the DHA because they were being exposed to something toxic in their home. The DHA managed to provide the puppies with lifesaving medical care.

The association recently shared the puppies story online. They asked for foster parents to help nurse them back to health and Joe Biden and his wife responded to the call.

According to the DHA, all six puppies have been placed in good homes including Major who was placed with the Bidens.

"We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals," ~ statement from the Bidens

“Today is Major’s lucky day! Not only did Major find his forever home, but he got adopted by Vice President Joe Biden & Dr. Jill Biden!” the organization had announced.

In the official announcement, the DHA revealed, "It was such an honor for us to adopt a puppy to Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden. We make friends for life at DHA and we know that the bond between humans and their pets is incredibly strong. We have adopted thousands of animals into homes in Delaware, and we are happy to add the Vice President and his family to our list.”

They also shared a number of pictures of Biden spending quality time with Major. In one pic they are both looking at pictures of Major as a puppy together.  The post garnered 17 000 likes and fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Simba Morrow said, "He just gets more of my admiration and respect. I hope he inspires others who think they are too good for a "shelter" dog."

Many others also shared Simba's sentiments.

Major is not the Biden's first pet. They also have another German shepherd named Champ who is particularly close to Joe.

While Biden was Vice President, he often handed out stuffed-animal versions of Champ to children at Rallys. Champ used to even go with him to work in Washington, DC, from time to time.

With, Biden lined up to be a top potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, fans can't help wondering if he'll be handing out toy versions of Major during his campaign as well.
