Serena Williams' daughter Olympia puts her toes in the ocean 'for the first time' in cute photo
Serena Williams has sand on her feet and so does her daughter, Olympia in their latest photo. The tennis star is celebrating a milestone – Olympia’s first dip in the ocean.
Olympia turned one in September which gives her more reason to experience new things. Yesterday, her mother brought her to the beach so she could dip her toes in the water for the first time.
FIRST DIP
Dressed in a colorful one-piece swimsuit, Olympia held her mother’s hand as they walked on the sand. Her mother, whose face isn’t visible because of the giant hat she’s wearing, guides her through the sandy shore, making sure she doesn’t miss a step. Fans also learn through the photo’s caption that Serena gave her daughter a hand in experiencing ocean water.
“Mama helped me put my toes in the ocean for the first time!”
FIRST BIRTHDAY
Olympia’s first birthday came without much fanfare due to Serena’s religion which prohibits her from celebrating birthdays. The tennis champ explained ahead of Olympia’s special day,
“We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that [birthdays]."
FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Speaking of firsts, Serena just celebrated her first anniversary with her husband, Alexis Ohanian. The couple exchanged tributes on Instagram sharing rare photos of them. Alexis chose a black-and-white image from their wedding day. The never-before-seen snap was taken while the couple were dancing during their “Beauty and the Beast”-themed wedding. He captioned the image with a sweet thought.
“365 days later. And still dancing. Only now Jr. joins in. Happy anniversary, my queen. Here’s to many, many more.”
Meanwhile, Serena shared a bedroom selfie and kept her caption simple but hopeful.
“One year down a lifetime to go.”
Here’s to many more firsts for in this family.
