A LIFE SPENT IN SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY
Although George H.W. Bush served his country as its 41st President from 1989 to 1993, his service to the United States started when he enlisted in the Navy at 18. Trained as a Navy pilot, Bush flew 58 combat missions during World War II.
