Meek Mill reveals hilarious story about awkward double date with Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj
Not one to beat around the bush, Meek Mill recently shared a hilarious story about an awkward double date he had with Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Nicki Minaj.
During his interview with Tidal's Elliott Wilson for the "CRWN" series, Meek shared a little bit about different aspects of his life, such as the work that went into "CHAMPIONSHIPS," his advocacy of prison reform, his beef with Drake, and of course, his relationship with Nicki Minaj.
According to Meek, he once went on a date and Jay was the one in charge of the playlist over dinner. Things started to get uncomfortable as it turns out, Jay-Z did not screen his playlist beforehand, and he ended up playing Drake's diss track, "Back to Back."
"I was with Nicki... Hov and Beyonce were like, 'come out and eat with us'. I’m from the hood so Hov and Beyonce are like “come and eat with us”, I’m like damn, I’m about to go double date with Hov and Beyonce right now? This [expletive] is incredible."
At the time, Jay, Beyonce, and Nicki didn't seem to realize what was going on, as no one else reacted when the song played. In the end, Meek wondered if the three of them remembered, but he did.
In 2015, he and Minaj eventually split, and just this year, he made up with Drake and even performed with him onstage in Drake's tour this September.
It seems this is the year Drake finally makes amends with all the people he's had some beef with, especially since he also made up with Kanye West and Chris Brown recently after years of not being in good terms.
In the end, the hilarious date is now something that Meek can easily laugh about, as it is something that doesn't matter anymore. Now what truly matters is him not having to go through a feud with one of the top artists in the world, and start a new friendship made with nothing but love and respect.
