Jennifer Aniston and Dolly Parton interviewed each other on "Good Morning America," reported ABC News on December 6, 2018, and the result was a revealing, intimate interview about their lives, their loves, and their work.

The two women are promoting the Aniston yet-to-be-released movie "Dumplin," which has an original soundtrack written and recorded by Parton.

"Because I'm so over-exaggerated and I have so many fans [in] the gay community and the drag queens. Even in your movie, Willowdean goes down to the bar. I actually taught her to do her make-up. I've always had these drag queens look like me. I even lost a Dolly Parton look-alike contest."

THE STORY THAT BROUGHT PARTON AND ANISTON TOGETHER

"Dumplin" is based on a book by the same name that tells the story of Willowdean, an overweight teenager whose mother (Aniston) was a beauty pageant queen.

Willowdean, who is obsessed with Dolly Parton, decides to enter the beauty pageant her mother organizes and seeks beauty tips from a Dolly Parton impersonator at a gay bar.

Even though "Dumplin" hasn't been released yet, one of the songs from the soundtrack, "Girl in the Movies," has been nominated for a Golden Globe award.

PARTON LOST A DOLLY PARTON LOOK-ALIKE CONTEST

This prompted Parton to disclose the hilarious fact that she had entered and lost a Dolly Parton look-alike contest to a cross-dressing impersonator who looked more like Parton than she did. Parton admitted that her Kewpie Doll looks and exaggerated image was particularly appealing to drag-queens, and that she had a large following in the gay community.

ANISTON AND PARTON: FRIENDS FOR LIFE

The two women had never met before Aniston asked Parton for permission to use her songs in "Dumplin," but the friendship has flourished between the actress and the singer.

The stars spend hours on the phone, and Parton who does not text her friends writes Aniston long letters the old-fashioned way - on paper.

PARTON'S SONG FOR "DUMPLIN" NOMINATED FOR AN AWARD

Parton explained that her musicality is inherited from her mother's side of the family and that one of her uncles, who would take the young Dolly out to sing on radio and TV:

"My inspiration was really my family. My mother's people were all very musical."

Even though "Dumplin" hasn't been released yet, one of the songs from the soundtrack, "Girl in the Movies," has been nominated for a Golden Globe award. The song is a collaboration between Parton and Linda Perry, the lead singer and primary songwriter of the 90s band 4 Non Blondes.

Fallon got more than he bargained for when Parton opened up about her husband's crush on the "Friends" actress:
