Jeannie Mai reveals why she stayed in her marriage, knowing it wouldn't work after just 1 year

Now that all has been said and done, Jeannie Mai didn't hold back in saying that if she could turn back the time, she wouldn't have married her ex-husband Freddy Harteis. After having to go through gruesome divorce proceedings, she released her frustrations on her show recently and said she wished she hadn't married him.

In tears, Jeannie announced that she regrets their 10-year marriage now that she's going through such a difficult time. She added that knowing what she knows now about her husband, she realized she was wrong about everything and this has made it all the more difficult for her to move on.

“You wake up with a rock in your heart and you feel like you can’t really make it through the day because it’s just so heavy,” said the talk show host. “Especially when finances get involved. Especially when people change.”

She adds that while she thought she once knew Freddy, it seems social media has changed him and turned him into a man she doesn't know.

“This is where you learn how things change. People say money changes people. So does ego and so does social media. And so does the press. I think that all of that mixed in between — you really gotta keep yourself grounded."

And now that Freddy has a new family and a newborn child, Jeannie realizes that the timing of everything has been so weird. After their divorce in October, he and his new girlfriend happily announced that they were expecting a child in April. He also announced that he was with the girl for six months prior to the pregnancy, causing people to wonder if he was cheating on Mai while they were still together.

“And you know what’s funny, I was never really the type to really sit there and actually calculate and do math. But then, our Real fam comes in and goes, ‘Wait, when you announce you met this person at this time and now you’re together having the baby at this time, Jeannie just came out with you guys getting divorced at this time,’ that’s funny! That’s when you have to face the facts”.

Now that everyone is trying to move on and be better, Jeannie has been getting her strength from her co-stars and "The Real" family, who join her in even the most special occasions to prove that she is not alone.
