Mel B, or Scary Spice as she is more famously known, recently had to cancel a book signing event for her new biography because she was hospitalized due to rib and hand injuries.

Mel B posted a picture of herself on Instagram in a hospital building sporting a purple sling. In the post she thanks all the hospital staff who have helped her through surgeries and the recovery process.

She also apologizes for canceling her New York book signing for her biography “Brutally Honest” written by Louise Gannon. The book centers on Mel B’s career and personal life.

INJURIES AND HOSPITAL

Mel B’s Instagram post is the only source of information currently available regarding her injuries. In the post, she describes her reason for hospitalization as being due to two broken ribs and her right hand being severed.

She has not yet revealed how the injuries were caused or when they happened. However, it can be deduced that it happened fairly quickly as she admits to needing emergency assistance from the hospital staff.

Mel B expressed her gratitude towards hospital staff, nurses, doctors, and surgeons for what they have done for her during her stay. This included a three-hour-long surgery.

MEL B’S BREAK UP

While the Spice Girls may be open to reuniting, Mel B and Eddie Murphy are not. The couple split in 2006, but their relationship has once again been placed in the media spotlight due to Mel B’s new autobiography.

In the book, she confesses her deep love for Eddie but also reflects on the brutal way in which he ended their relationship just before they were going to get married. Mel B was also pregnant with their daughter at the time.

Their daughter, Angel Murphy Brown, was born in Angel 2007. Mel B has custody of her, but Eddie has visitation rights and can see her on weekends.

Eddie and his fiance, Paige Butcher, recently gave birth to his tenth and their second child, a boy called Max.
