Meghan Markle cradles her huge baby bump in a one-shoulder dress during a surprise public outing
On Monday evening, Duchess Meghan made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards. She was there to present an award to her wedding dress designer.
For the occasion, the Royal was seen wearing a dress by the same fashion designer. Her huge baby bump was also visible as she cradled it in her arms.
Duchess Meghan, 37, was at the awards ceremony to present her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller, 48, of Givenchy, with an award. The event was held at the Royal Albert Hall.
Meghan chose to wear a stunning black one-shoulder dress that was believed to have been designed by Keller. The fashion designer won the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award.

The Duchess of Sussex yesterday attended a meeting with The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) at King’s College London. Her Royal Highness joined university leaders, academics and international scholarship students as they discussed the role of higher education in addressing issues such as human trafficking, modern slavery, gender equality, peace and reconciliation, and climate change. In a speech during the Royal Visit to Fiji in October, The Duchess announced two ACU Gender Grants for the University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University, to fund new learning initiatives aimed at empowering female university staff and promoting gender equality.
The Duchess, who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in the spring, looked radiant as she held her growing baby bump. Her look was completed with gold "Karat" heels by Tamara Mellon and a gold cuff bracelet by Pippa Small.
During her speech, she said:
“It is such an honor to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.”
The wedding dress that Keller made for Meghan was made of silk and it featured an open neckline and sculpted waist. The gown’s train flowed in folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza.
The day after the May wedding, Keller shared that the design process had been “very collaborative.” She also added that Meghan was familiar with her work.
The designer told reporters:
“It was a wonderful way to start the collaboration with her, finding out what she wanted for her day and just to find the absolute perfect style for her. Part of it was really a conversation in the beginning and then through a series of sketches that I proposed to her. We exchanged conversations about what would be the ultimate lines and proportions and the scale of the dress.”
