Here's who will headline the 47th anniversary of 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'
On Thursday the ABC announced who will be headlining for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019, and fans are delighted.
Much to the delight of fans, Christina Aguilera will be headlining for the first time since 2007, following the recent release of her first album in 6 years, ‘Liberation.’ Her album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart and includes singles like ‘Fall in Line,’ and ‘Accelerate.’
Christina joins an already packed line up to keep everyone entertained until the countdown in New York’s Times Square.
The line up also features Dan + Shay, Bastille and New Kids on the Block; Jenny McCarthy will be in the crowd while Ryan Seacrest hosts the event for the 13th time. Ryan took over hosting duties from the creator and namesake of the show, Dick Clark after he suffered a stroke in December 2004.
Since the start of the New Year's Eve show on ABC in 1973, it became the highest ranking New Year's Show with a peak amount of viewers in 2012 of 22.6 million home viewers.

As fans are aware, Christina left the popular show ‘The Voice’ as coach early this year. She had appeared in six seasons of the show as a coach and felt she was becoming stagnant as she said:
“I can’t stay in a stagnant place for too long, which is why I think the position I was in with the Television just became very stifling. I need movement. I need to go explore, be an artist, create and transform.”
When ‘The Voice’ first aired in 2011, Christina was one of the original coaches, along with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green.
