Don Lemon & his boyfriend pose with Santa in new photo after decorating Christmas tree together
Don Lemon and his boyfriend, Tim Malone, are basking in the spirit of the holidays in a series of recent pics featuring Santa and their lovely Christmas tree. This will be the second Christmas for the loved-up couple.
The “CNN Tonight” host, who came out as a gay man in 2011, is entirely in love with his partner and he doesn’t bother to hide it. Lemon and Malone always have a good time together, and they enjoy sharing their memorable moments with fans on social media.
As Christmas gets near, the couple is immersing in the festive atmosphere as seen in some of their recent Instagram posts. Lemon shared a video of Malone finishing up the decorations of their tree at home and revealed that he didn’t help much because he was “sleeping off the flu” while “Santa’s helpers” were working hard.
In the clip, Lemon approaches Malone asking “What are you doing babe? Did you put more lights on it?” to which Tim replies “I just put them straight,” as he keeps hanging ornaments.
“Are you happy now?” Lemon asks, and he gets a “yes” for an answer as Malone starts moving his head to the rhythm of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas You.”
NEVER TOO OLD FOR SANTA
On a separate post, Lemon and Malone revive their childhood by sitting near Santa’s lap. Donning a grey suit with a blue tie, Lemon looks delighted being with Santa, while Malone, wearing a navy sweater and striped pants, smiles brightly next to the pair.
“Never too old to believe,” Lemon captioned the adorable photo.
Fans took over his comment section to gush about the couple and their cute ways. One user wrote “Never too old! I love this, and I love watching you Don! Fine looking couple.” Another added, “You two are just adorable. Merry Christmas,” and a third one chimed in saying “I can see how much the two of you really enjoy the Christmas season. Very refreshing to see from the eyes of an old great-gramma.”
Last year, Lemon and Malone packed on the PDA by kissing on national TV at CNN’s New Year celebration. Lemon invited Malone, a real estate worker, on camera, and after telling him “I love you, baby,” they shared a sweet kiss.
COMING OUT
Don Lemon officially came out to the public in 2011 on an interview with the New York Times ahead of the release of his first book, “Transparent.”
However, he made sure to clarify that he never hid his real self from his co-workers at CNN, his family and friends, but he realized that speaking up was going to be beneficial for him and for other people he could inspire.
He revealed that he had his moments of doubts on whether or not to disclose his sexual preferences, but in the end, he decided to leave it for one reason: “I abhor hypocrisy,” he said. And continued:
“I think if you’re going to be in the business of news, and telling people the truth, of trying to shed light in dark places, then you’ve got to be honest. You’ve got to have the same rules for yourself as you do for everyone else.”
Lemon and Malone have no become a fan favorite couple in the entertainment industry, especially for LGBTQ+ people in the African American community who see in Lemon an example to follow.
