Upon visiting Ta Prohm temple in Angkor Wat, Cambodia, travel blogger Venus GWC filmed and feature a young vendor who to her surprise, speaks almost a dozen languages. Venus was on tourist mode and conversed with many kids in the area, but this particular boy stood out as he spoke in different tongues.

“I feel grateful that this his video gone viral. It might create more awareness to people there are kids who still struggle to live their life every day.”

Thaksin, the kid wonder, proved his talent by speaking their local dialect, then switching from Cantonese to French, Japanese, Mandarin, Thai, Malay, Filipino, English, then Spanish – but he can also speak German, Korean, and Hainanese. He does not have proper education and only learned these languages through tourists from around the globe.

Thaksin is a local vendor at the tourist spot in Cambodia and sells knick-knacks on the street to fund the education he longs to have. It seems though that he won’t have to dream of education for long as opportunities started coming to him. A television network in Beijing, China has eyed Thaksin, not only for his multilingual talent but for a song he sang and changed the lyrics to.

According to the South China Morning Post, the station has invited Thaksin and his family to join a singing audition in China, under their sponsorship. This may be his big break if he wins and lands a contract with the network. But, the blessings didn’t stop there. Cambodian Red Cross offered sponsorship for Thaksin’s education along with his siblings.

Venus was so happy that she was the person who made everything fall into place, just by posting the video that went viral. She wrote in a post,

“I feel grateful that this his video gone viral. It might create more awareness to people there are kids who still struggle to live their life every day.”

With such a hardworking boy like him trying to learn as much as he could by interacting with tourists, there is no doubt that he would make the most out of the opportunities provided to him by his generous donors. Now, we all can't wait to see what his future holds.
