Uber driver hurls racist slurs, calls Black female passenger the N-word and makes monkey noises

A white Uber driver hurled racist insults at his black female passenger after he allegedly missed his way during the trip. The woman recorded and posted the charged exchange on Facebook.

When Kiara White ordered for an Uber ride recently, she had no idea she was going to go viral as a result, and not for the right reasons either.

According to her, it all started after the driver, identified on the ride app as Timothy, failed to navigate on his app as he drove her in the Quad Cities area of Davenport.

Timothy ended up losing his way and going down a one-way street twice. “He Tried To Put Me Out,” Kiara revealed in the caption of a racially offensive and emotionally charged five-minute video. “Nooo iPaid U Take Me To My Destination & The Whole Ride He Did Nothing But Say Racist Stuff To Me.”

Things got worse when Timothy ordered his passenger to get out of the car, and she refused, insisting she had paid and would be taken to where she wants.

He launched into an expletive-filled racist tirade that saw him continually using the N-word and making monkey noises.

At first, Kiara secretly films the man, but even after she told him she was recording, he went right on with his hate-filled words.

Kiara herself throws some sharp words at the driver, and the two engage in a heated back-and-forth for the full five minutes of the video.

She posted the video, along with a screenshot of the Uber app showing that he had only been driving with the company for 22 days, on January 7. Three days later, it already has over 16,000 views, and several media outlets have picked up the story.

A spokesman for Uber reached out to Yahoo Lifestyle concerning the incident, saying:

“This behavior is appalling and it has no place on the Uber app or anywhere. Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination and as soon we learned of this report, we removed this driver’s access to the app.”

The company rep, however, refused to speak on Kiara’s allegation that she’s been banned by Uber and all her complaints have not been answered.
