Meghan Markle confesses that a woman rejected a purse the Duchess suggested to her

Guess what! Meghan Markle suggested a purse which was donated by her for a woman who respectfully declined the offer; she didn't like it.

The Duchess of Sussex made her first public appearance of the new year at Smart Works, a charity organization based at St Charles Hospital in North Kensington, West London on Thursday. The organization is concerned with women empowerment issues.

She had earlier been pronounced as the patron for the 6-year-old organization on social media, but the announcement was short-lived.In the same vein, Meghan was named patron for the National Theatre in London and the Association of Commonwealth Universities; succeeding the queen.

She looked classic in an Oscar de la Renta coat which costs £2,600, donned over a £179 maternity dress from Hatch; while also spotting a Victoria Beckham leather tote bag and Giovanni Rossi pumps estimated at £500.

The whole outfit was capped with £315 Kimai earrings as she went about her duty of picking lovely outfits for the beneficiaries.

The mother to be's involvement with the organization helps women who are out of jobs get back on their feet by improving their physical appearance and boosting confidence by brushing up their abilities.

The former actress helped Mrs. Wardally, a woman who left work to focus on taking care of her autistic daughter pick a black handbag and tan cape; for a customer-related job she got at Gatwick Airport.

The 55-year-old job enthusiast couldn't hide her delight as she said:

“More confident, more beautiful, I looked in the mirror, and I know it's me, but the difference in my esteem and everything has just shot through the roof."

The senior woman made sure to commend the Duchess for helping out.

While going about her wardrobe stylist duty, the duchess recounted an experience at Smart Work; her suggestions were declined by a beneficiary who didn't seem to agree with Meghan’s fashion choice as she rejected a purse Meghan herself had donated.

“The last time I was here I suggested a purse to someone. It was one that I had donated, and she didn’t like it, I said ‘Oh, ok.’” -Markle

The Duchess laughed and added: “I thought it was great!”
