A woman recognized her and took her to a neighbor. The pair then called the police. The girl was examined and returned to her family.
Closs was allegedly abducted by Jake Thomas Patterson, 21, in October 2018. He killed her parents to get to the young girl.
Closs, 13, escaped from the remote home she was kept in last Thursday. She left when Patterson went out. She later described the attacker's vehicle.
The Douglas County Wisconsin Sheriff's Department later found the vehicle and arrested Patterson. Closs is staying with her aunts and is in good condition.
