Justin Hartley reportedly reveals 'huge story’ behind arrival of ‘This Is Us’ uncle this season

Just ahead of the new season premiere of ‘This Is Us’ Justin Hartley teased fans that this will be the show’s biggest season yet, as his uncle, Nicky Pearson returns to the show.

During an interview at the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on January 13, Justin dished about highlights in the storyline for the upcoming season of the NBC series.

He showed up on the red carpet with his beautiful wife, Chrishell Stause on his arm as the couple matched up their looks for the evening. The ‘This Is Us’ actor looked handsome in an all-black tuxedo that he wore down with a pair of sneakers.

Chrishell looked gorgeous in a figure-hugging white gown that draped to the floor, with a matching black clutch and her long hair up in a ponytail.

Justin divulged that his character, Kevin Pearson will soon face his uncle, Nicky. As fans are aware, Jack told his son Kevin and the rest of his siblings that their uncle died in the Vietnam War.

At the end of the previous season, fans learned during a nail-biting episode that Nicky is still alive and live near the family’s original hometown in Pittsburgh.

The 41-year-old Justin mysteriously said that his character would meet his uncle “really, really, really soon,” and elaborated:

"Well, we don't even know if he's gonna meet him, right? He's gonna. I mean, that's the thing, who's keeping that secret, right? We all know that's happening."

The only clue Justin gave about the big meet is that "it's probably not going to be all rainbows and butterflies." Going more into what the perspective is for the cast after uncle Nicky returns from the dead as he added:

"Here's a guy who's lived in solitude his whole life, who we thought was dead, because we were told by our father -- who is dead -- that he was dead. And now it's like, 'Wait, he's not dead?'" Hartley pondered. "So, should we be mad about that? Like, what's the deal? Like, why did you tell us he was deceased? There's a huge story behind all of that. [It's] a lot to process."

The actor, Griffin Dunne will portray the role of uncle Nicky, but Justin didn’t give any other details away.

At the award show, Justin got nominated for an award for his role as Kevin Pearson in the hit show, ‘This Is Us.’

Feeling on top of the world, Justin’s life has come together for him over the last few years. The television series is a big hit, and he married the love of his life, the ‘All My Children’ actress, Chrishell Stause at the end of October 2017.

The couple had an intimate ceremony at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu and got attended by family and close friends. Chrishell looked stunning in her Monique Lhuillier dress featuring an A-line feathered skirt with her hair pulled back in a stylish chignon.

The first episode of the new season of ‘This Is Us’ is said to air on January 22, titled ‘Songbird Road: Part One. The episode title plays on the home address on an envelope that revealed uncle Nicky’s current address, 2125 Songbird Road.
