'Curly Sue' star is all grown up and looks unrecognizable

Alisan Porter is well known for acting in the 1991 hit comedy film, “Curly Sue.” However, she has grown up since then and decided to make singing her career path.

Alisan was ten years old when the film premiered and is now a 36-year-old winner of “The Voice.” She is no longer the curly haired little girl that audiences fell in love with in the 1990s.

On the contrary, Alisan is almost unrecognizable now, even to the biggest “Curly Sue” fans. She no longer has the iconic chubby cheeks and curly hair.

FROM ACTING TO SINGING

The actress turned singer has an ever-growing social media presences, especially on platforms such as Instagram. Her content is a mix of her personal and professional lives.

However, things have not always been peachy for Alisan. In her early 20s, she struggled with addiction but managed to overcome it in 2007.

Since then she has met her now husband, gotten married and had two children. In 2016 she auditioned for “The Voice” and ended up winning the competition under the guidance of Christina Aguilera.

Alisan was shocked by her success in the competition, especially seeing as she was not too determined when she auditioned.

COLLABORATION

Her singing success did not end in 2016. Since then Alisan has had many opportunities to grow her career.

One such opportunity was when she performed with Daughtry and Rua at the 10th anniversary of “XLO’s Acoustic X-Mas.”

Her music can be described as a mixture of pop, rock, and country. All of these elements can be heard in her latest EP, “I Come In Pieces.”
