Alfonso Ribeiro Is a Doting Dad of 4 From 2 Marriages: The Eldest Is an Actress, and the Youngest Is Mom's Mini-Me — Photos

They may not all share the same mother, but Alfonso Ribeiro's four children share one thing without question: a father who never stops showing up.

Best known for his unforgettable role as Carlton Banks on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," Alfonso Ribeiro is also a dedicated father, proudly raising four children from two marriages in a deeply connected blended family.

Now 54, the actor and host frequently shares glimpses into family life. Each of his four children, ranging in age from six to 23, brings something unique to their family story.

His Second Marriage, a Growing Family, and a Renewed Joy

In 2012, Ribeiro proposed to Angela Unkrich at Lake Tahoe, surrounded by close friends — and his daughter Sienna. "I got engaged last night to Angela on Lake Tahoe, surrounded by our dear friends and my daughter. Greatest day of my life," he wrote at the time.

The two married in October 2012, and together they've welcomed three children: Alfonso Lincoln Ribeiro Jr. (AJ), Anders Reyn Ribeiro, and Ava Sue Ribeiro.

Angela has frequently shared insights into their parenting journey — tributes filled with warmth, reflection, and admiration for each child's individuality.

AJ, 12, Is Thoughtful, Gentle, and Protective

Born on October 27, 2013, at 10:45 am, AJ was welcomed into the world with a message from his proud father. "We are so blessed," he wrote.

AJ has always been deeply connected to his siblings. When they were younger, he was often the first to comfort his little brother, gently rubbing his back and singing "Twinkle Twinkle." Despite growing older, he remains affectionate and close to his family.

On his 12th birthday, Angela shared, "Somehow he's growing up and growing deeper at the same time…more wisdom, more kindness, more heart. He is thoughtful, well-spoken, smart, witty, gentle yet strong, and still loves a good cuddle with his mama. His heart is his superpower."

Anders, 11, Has a Smile That 'Lights up Any Room'

Anders, born April 30, 2015, is known for his emotional depth and extraordinary athleticism. On May 1, Alfonso announced his birth, saying, "Anders Reyn Ribeiro is a wonderful blessing to our family."

Angela once described him, saying, "His heart is as big as the world, his smile lights up any room, and his eyes...those eyes of his can look right into your soul."

He has a deep love for animals, nature, and physical activity — playing sports with what his mother called more "grit and heart" than she's seen in many adults. She also once called him "the most curious, hilarious, and truly awesome boy."

"This amazing human is the reason why I believe in magic," Angela wrote in a tribute, praising her son's spirit, uniqueness, and fearless joy in life.

Ava Sue, 7, Is the Bold, Imaginative Mini-Angela

Born on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, Ava arrived with flair. Alfonso shared, "Ava Sue Ribeiro finally decided to send @mrsangelaribeiro1 to the hospital on Mother's Day and came into our world early yesterday morning."

Angela says Ava has "the grit that comes with having two older brothers, and a softness that shows up especially around puppies." But this six-year-old is already carving out her own bold identity — a curious, articulate child with a love for sharks, roller coasters, and performing in front of any crowd.

"She has an imagination as wide as the sky, the wisdom of an old soul, and a giggle so contagious it could melt anyone," her mother said. "Her spirit animal is a unicorn — and honestly, that tracks."

A Blended Family That Puts Love First

Despite the complexity of a blended family, the Ribeiros have created an environment of support, warmth, and unity. Sienna shares a close relationship with her stepmother, Angela, and her younger siblings, regularly appearing in family photos during celebrations, vacations, and milestone events.

Angela has often reflected on how each child brings their own magic to the family — a sentiment visible in every post, caption, and smiling portrait.

As Alfonso continues to guide his children, one thing is clear: the man once known for his quirky dances and sitcom laughs now assumes his most meaningful role yet — a father fully present, fully committed, and deeply proud.

Sienna Michele, 23: The Oldest of the Ribeiro Kids

Alfonso's first child, Sienna Michele Ribeiro, was born on October 7, 2002. Her mother is Robin Stapler, an actress Alfonso met in 1999 on the set of "In the House."

The couple married shortly after, but by August 2006, their marriage ended in divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. They shared joint custody of Sienna during her upbringing and have supported her throughout her rising acting career.

Sienna has landed roles in "NCIS," the 2022 thriller "Deadly Cheers," and most recently, "The Lightning Code" (2025). She has grown up in the public eye, attending events like NSYNC's Challenge for the Children V in 2003 and frequently appearing in family photos.
