President Trump's character suddenly ends long-term shutdown for a case of 'hamberders'

Alec Baldwin's spoof on "Saturday Night Live" has the audience in stitches.

The hot topic in American politics since December 22, 2018, is without a doubt the federal government shutdown.

On January 20, 2019, "Saturday Night Live" aired a skit in which Kenan Thomson played  TV host Steve Harvey from the popular game show "Deal or No Deal," opposite Alec Baldwin's hilarious Donald Trump.

“Earlier today you went on TV and you told the American people that you want to make a deal. So we decided to do this in the only format you can understand: a television game show where women hold briefcases.”

Baldwin’s President Trump wanted $5 billion for his border security budget, but Kate McKinnon who played Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, would only give him $1 billion on the condition that the President had to call her "mommy."

Baldwin's Trump turned her down, only to be offered  $15 and a pastrami on rye by Alex Moffat playing Senator Chuck Schumer

The shutdown is a result of Congress' refusal to fund President Trump's proposed border wall to the tune of $5,7 billion.

The fictional shutdown was ended when Pete Davidson, playing a Clemson student, offers Trump a "hamberder."

The term became an instant cult classic after President Donald Trump misspelled hamburgers as “ hamberders” in a tweet.

The widely-viewed spoof elicited no comment from the White House or from President Trump, who is known to have a "pet hate" for actor Alec Baldwin.

“Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch.”

No matter how funny the "Saturday Night Live" may make it seem, the federal government shutdown is no laughing matter to the more than 800.000 federal employees left without a salary for the duration.

The shutdown is a result of Congress' refusal to fund President Trump's proposed border wall to the tune of $5,7 billion. Congress won't pay, Trump won't budge, and America is caught in the middle.

National champions, The Clemson Tigers were invited for dinner at the White House to celebrate their January 7 victory, but they were in for a surprise.

Instead of sitting down to a lavish meal prepared by the justly famous White House chefs, the Tigers were presented with hamburgers - or as the President called them in his famous tweet, “hamberders.”

According to the White House, President Trump paid for the event out of his own pocket. The billionaire-President generously sprung for "hamberders" and fries from McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King, and for those who don't like "berders", he ordered pizzas from Domino’s.

Two-thirds of the White House staff - including the 4 chefs - are on furlough for the duration of the shutdown.

In a related story, "Saturday Night Live" star and anti-Trump activist, Alec Baldwin

called for the country to oust President Donald Trump.
