Andy Cohen rips into offenders criticizing his dog for destroying his newborn son's toy
Andy Cohen defends his dog against social media trolls that claim the dog is jealous of his newborn baby.
"Watch What Happens Live!" host, Andy Cohen has a dog called Wacha, who is currently the center of a supposed jealousy story involving a dog and a baby. Wacha hooked his teeth into Cohen’s son's toy and tore it apart.
After the act, Cohen, in a series of videos which he posted on his Instagram story on February 15, captured himself asking Wacha who appeared spent, and was relaxing in the mess he made:
“Did you just eat my son’s stuffed Torah that the Rabbi gave him Wacha?”
Cohen went on to say — “That was my son’s Torah. Do you want to explain to my son what you did? And what do I tell Rabbi? Wacha! Wacha!.”
This video was meant to be a fun discussion between Cohen and his dog, but it soon became a ground for shaming Cohen as a dad.
A lot of his critics took to the comment section and also sent him direct messages, saying Wacha was jealous of Benjamin, and that was a potential problem for him as a father.
Andy, not one to keep quiet posted a new set of videos where he addressed his critics saying “I received a lot of DMs from people saying I’ve got a big problem on my hands. Wacha didn’t know that Torah toy belonged to a baby. He just had his eyes on a purple f-toy and wanted to rip it apart. It’s not deep; everything is fine in the West Village. “
Before Benjamin was born, Cohen had been living with Wacha, who happens to be a rescue dog. Wacha was there for Cohen and served as his companion when he was awaiting the birth of his son, who was born through surrogacy on February 4.
In an earlier interview with PEOPLE, Cohen mentioned that Wacha and Benjamin were yet to meet, as they would meet after Benjamin’s Bris (Jewish circumcision) ceremony; and on Valentine’s Day, Cohen posted this photo of the three of them.
He captioned it: “TWO Valentine’s, lucky me❤❤❤.”
He also shared a photo of Wacha watching Benjamin while he slept on Wacha's Instagram page, and he captioned it “checking on my little brother.”
Andy's idea of making Wacha and Benjamin is just so sweet. He's going to be a great dad.
