Meghan Markle makes secret trip to New York City for supposed baby shower with friends

Meghan Markle was seen all bundled up during a secret trip to New York City where she reportedly celebrated her baby shower with her closest friends.

The seven-months pregnant Duchess of Sussex tried to look as lowkey as possible while looking chic in a long black trench coat and a gray cap pulled down over her face to try and hide her identity. With the big rock on her wedding finger and her easily distinguishable face, however, it was clear that it really was Markle who was walking the New York street.

Meghan was reunited with her beloved New York over the weekend to spend time with her close friends before the arrival of her first child in just two months. Of course, with her were royal protection officers who escorted her wherever she went.

The 37-year-old allegedly flew in for a five-day trip last Friday, after spending a private Valentine's Day date with her husband, Prince Harry.

Sources say that while shopping and reuniting with her favorite restaurants was definitely on her itinerary, the main event was to celebrate her baby shower with about a dozen of her friends in one of the luxury hotels on New York's Upper East Side.

The private baby shower is said to be organized by Meghan's best friend, Jessica Mulroney, who arrived in New York City from her hometown of Toronto.

Markle's last sighting before she flew into New York was at The Wider Earth's Charity Gala in London, where she stunned in a gorgeous Calvin Klein dress alongside her husband, Prince Harry. It was in that appearance that her baby bump seemed very noticeable as she did not wear anything to cover it up. She left her body-tight gown do the talking, which she paired with an Amanda Wakeley coat and a pair of high heels.

After a busy couple of months touring the world and doing different royal appearances with her husband, this little escape to America is the perfect way for her to unwind and relax before they welcome their baby in the world. After all, this is the type of world Meghan has been accustomed to, and visiting once in a while wouldn't hurt.
