Beyoncé's Mom Poses with Sanaa Lathan Almost a Year After Bite Scandal
Tina Lawson, Beyoncé's mother, took to Instagram to share a photo posing next to Sanaa Lathan at the 2019 Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards Luncheon.
In the image, Lawson appeared wearing a beautiful black jumpsuit while holding a purse and side-hugging the actress. Apart from her multiple pieces of jewelry, one of the aspects that attracted more attention was her gorgeous, curly hair.
Lathan, on the other hand, opted for a loose white dress with a deep V-cut neckline accessorized with a thick belt around her waist. She had her purse hanged across her chest and had her hair braided.
For the caption, Beyoncé’s mother wrote:
“This gorgeous woman Sanaa Lathan @sanaalathan presented the award to her bestie The beautiful talented Regina Hall,” followed by a red heart emoji.
THE “BITEGATE” INCIDENT
The post caused a stir on social media because Lathan was the person that Tiffany Haddish accused to have bitten Beyoncé during a party in December 2017. The incident, also known as “Bitegate,” arose in March 2018 when Haddish made it public.
Even though the comedian said she had signed an NDA and would never say who did it, she named Lathan a few days later. However, Lathan denied the rumors, and Lawson’s husband, Richard, even asked people to “drop” the rumor as it was fake.
While “Bitegate” seems to be water under the bridge now, some people don’t forget that easy, and they made fun of Lawson and Lathan’s encounter in social media.
“you just gonna forget how she bit your eldest daughter,” [sic] wondered one user.
“She look like she's about to bite again,” [sic] joked a second follower.
“Did she bite you too?” asked another person.
LAWSON AND HADDISH TOGETHER
It is not the first time that Lawson spends time with a person involved in the “Bitegate” incident, though. Last month, Beyoncé’s mother hosted a bake-off contest at her home, and she invited Haddish and film producer Ralph Farquhar to it.
In the post, Lawson appeared holding a plate with the biscuits the contestants baked. The three of them were flashing their smiles at the camera, proving that there is no bad blood between Haddish and Lawson.
For the caption, Queen B’s mother wrote:
“I cannot tell you how much fun it was to have a Biscuit Battle at my house between Tiffany Haddish and Ralph Farquhar. Will post videos later I was the commentator and judge.”
LATHAN AND HADDISH CAREERS
At the moment, Lathan is focused on voicing over Donna Tubbs for “Family Guy,” as well as in her upcoming film “Native Son,” which is expected to be released in April this year.
Haddish, on the other hand, has her hands full with “Limited Partners,” “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” “The Kitchen,” “The Last O.G,” and “Tuca & Bertie.”
