Prince Harry Faces Backlash after Insensitive 'Is It Mine?' Joke about Meghan Markle's Pregnancy
Prince Harry is facing a lot of criticism after he joked around asking if the baby Meghan was carrying was his. While it was an attempt to crack a joke, people on the internet were not amused and are calling him "immature."
During a two-day official visit to Morocco, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex went to a town in the Atlas Mountains to visit a girls' boarding house that provides education to young women from rural areas. When one of the women congratulated Meghan on her pregnancy, Harry pretended to be shocked about the news.
"Wait, you're pregnant?!"
His wife pretended to go along with the joke, responding with "Suprise!" Prince Harry then asked Meghan if the baby was his, smiling in hopes of letting people know that he meant it as a joke.
Social media users were not pleased with the joke made by Harry, saying that it is insulting to implicate that Meghan would have a child that isn't his.
The couple is currently in Morocco for a state visit, and it is expected to be the Duchess' last international trip before she gives birth to their first child.
Aside from the Atlas Mountains, Meghan and Harry also visited a horse stable to learn about equine therapy for children with disabilities, and the capital of Rabat's walled Andalusian Gardens.
While at the girls' boarding house, Meghan received a henna tattoo at the back of her hand as a traditional ceremony meant to celebrate her pregnancy.
PRINCE CHARLES IS WORRIED FOR THE DUKE AND DUCHESS' CHILD
Every member of the royal family is expected to do tours in different countries, hoping to advance different causes that they feel are important to let people know about. During Prince Charles' trip to Ghana, he said that he is worried about what the child's future is going to be.
It turns out; the Prince was talking about plastic pollution, explaining how the use of plastics is destroying the world today.
“It does seem to me insanity if we are going to bequeath this completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world to them. All grandchildren deserve a better future.”
With the Royals doing their part in trying to advance different issues, there is no doubt that they will inspire others to do the same, and eventually make the world a better place for the next generation.
