Ellen Degeneres Reacts to Engagement, Says She’ll Be Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Maid of Honor’

While the world is excited for Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming wedding, Ellen DeGeneres is already planning to be Jennifer’s maid of honor.

“Yes. I’ll be the maid of honor,” Ellen commented on Jennifer’s Instagram post, which she shared to announce her engagement. The snapshot, captured by Comments by Celebs, pointed out how Ellen was tagged in the post.

Previously, the American pop star shared how she and Alex reconnected during her show.

“I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him as he passed by. Afterwards, I went outside, and for some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder," Jennifer told Ellen Degeneres on Ellen’s show.

She shared that Rodriguez made the next move by asking her out to dinner later on.

The talk show host had said that the couple should get married because they seem happy together.

“You should [get married], because y’all seem very happy,” Ellen said. “I mean, it would be good to do for Christmas.”

Although Alex did not pop the question on Christmas, he sure took Ellen’s advice and popped the question to his gorgeous girlfriend.

The couple posted a picture each on their Instagram accounts on March 9 to announce the news.

Jennifer was previously married to singer Marc Anthony for seven years, while Alex was married to Cynthia Scurtis for five years.

The couple have two kids each with their former partners.

According to a source, Jennifer is “ecstatic” following her engagement with former professional baseball shortstop and third baseman.

“Very few people knew Alex planned on proposing. It was very much a surprise for Jennifer. It was just how Alex wanted it," the source added.
