In an exclusive interview with People, the 21-year-old lady revealed that Nic, 25, surprised her with a very romantic proposal in front of her family and friends while they were all celebrating Christmas at her house in Nashville.

"Do you want my daughter’s hand in marriage or my hand in marriage?” wondered Todd.

SHE WAS UPSET

Savannah recalled that she was furious on the night of the engagement because Nic’s family was in town and she couldn’t be with them as much as she would have liked because the Chrisleys were filming.

“The fact we’re filming on Christmas Eve is absolutely insane. I have people here,” thought Savannah at that point.

After that, her mother, Julie, told her that she forgot something at the store, so she had to go there with her. As soon as they got back home, Savannah realized that nobody was in there.

Dylan, the son of her best friend, approached her and said, “Hey, I think they’re looking for you outside.” When she followed the boy, her anger disappeared, and nothing but joy filled her body.

THE SURPRISE

“I walk outside and it’s all lit up! And Nic’s family is standing on one side, my family and friends are standing on the other, and then I just start freaking out because I’m like, ‘This isn’t really about to happen,’” added Savannah.

Even though Nic was very nervous, he told his then-girlfriend, “Hey babe, will you come here?” Savannah said it was a long walk because she was also nervous.

“I was like, ‘What is going down?’ And then, it’s funny. He tells me now that he forgot everything he wanted to say. He said he had this whole thing written out, and he was like, ‘I just forgot it all.’ And it was just so cute and everyone was crying. It was just such a cool moment. And the fact that both of our families were there made it even better,” she admitted.

Savannah, who has been dating Nic since November 2017 after meeting him via Instagram, also revealed that he sent her a picture of a ring way before the proposal, but she didn’t like it.

JULIE CHOSE THE RING

“My mom actually kind of picked out the ring, and so she went and sat down with a jeweler in Nashville and picked out the diamond and all of that. And so, it’s kind of cool to know that she picked it out,” pointed out the bride-to-be.

Julie proved to have a very good taste for rings as she chose a five-carat one designed by Dror Flantzman. It has a radiant, brilliant cut diamond in the center surrounded by a four-prong basket-style head. It also features 18 round but diamonds.

NIC ASKED FOR TODD’S HAND

Savannah’s father, Todd, was also involved in the proposal as Nic asked him for his daughter’s hand. Even though Nic wanted to do it in person, he was in Canada and Todd was in Nashville, so he had to do it over a FaceTime call.

The hockey player was so nervous, recalled Savannah, that he actually asked for Todd’s hand. “You may want to re-ask that question. Do you want my daughter’s hand in marriage or my hand in marriage?” wondered Todd.

Nic hung up and then called back to do it the right way. Finally, Savannah admitted that they are in no rush to get married and that they still don’t have a date.

“We’re kind of just taking our time. We know that we want to spend the rest of our life with each other,” confessed Savannah.
