Todd Chrisley Breaks Silence on His Daughter's Surprise Engagement

Like any good father, Todd Chrisley, the main star of the television program Chrisley Knows Best is very protective of his children and has always been very demanding of potential suitors who have appeared in their love lives.

For this reason, fans of Chrisley have closely followed the development of the romantic relationship that began between the youngest daughter of the star of reality, Savannah Chrisley, and another well-known face of television, Nic Kerdiles.

Because Chrisley has previously expressed disapproval for the significant people of his children, many of his followers were curious to know if that had also been the case with Nic. However, the proud father has always expressed his approval for him.

Shortly after Savannah and her boyfriend began to be seen publicly showing their affection and being recognized as a couple, Chrisley shared an emotional post on Instagram expressing her feelings about Nic and her relationship with her daughter.

"It's with pride that I say 'Welcome to the Chrisleys," the father wrote, and then added: "This is NOT an engagement, it's a welcoming to our family while we see what God's plan is" due to the insistent questions of the fans about if the young sweethearts were engaged.

Less than a year later, it turns out that an engagement was part of God's plan. Savannah revealed to People that Nic proposed to her on Christmas Eve and the couple has been happily engaged for four months.

Evidently, everyone wondered what the demanding father was thinking about his little daughter getting engaged to Nic. However, it was not long before Chrisley clarified all doubts with a post on Instagram loaded with feelings.

"We couldn’t be more proud to make this announcement, we are humbled and blessed to witness such favor, [Savannah] we love you with all our hearts and will always be here for you and [Nic] in good times and bad, and yes, there will be bad but with God's grace and mercy you will grow stronger each day, [Nic] we love you and are proud to call you our son, welcome to what some consider a crazy life but one we consider our safe place, you will always have a seat at the table."

Savannah could not help but express how moved she was by her dad's words with a tearful-faced emoji, but we are sure that what made tears run the hardest was the response that Nic wrote to his future father-in-law.

"I cannot ask for a better future father-in-law and am so grateful for how your family has welcome me in!" he commented. "Myself and my own family are so grateful to be able to call you all family! Love you guys!"

Despite being known as the father of the south with a sharp tongue in Chrisley Knows Best, the 51-year-old father had several dark episodes in his life before becoming a certified reality star.
