News of Hunter’s love-child with his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, made the rounds last month and even though neither he nor Williams addressed it, an insider now confirms the report, according to PEOPLE.

HIRING A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

“The split is definitely due to Kevin’s ongoing infidelity and that his mistress recently welcomed their child,” the source told the outlet, adding that:

“Wendy had hired a private investigator and confronted him. He confessed to everything three weeks ago. All of the recent drama put a huge strain on Wendy and caused her to struggle with her sobriety as she did everything she could to try and save their marriage”

HEALTH FALLOUT

Williams’ struggle with her sobriety seems to be confirmed by reports that surfaced late last month about her suffering an alcoholic relapse after news of Hunter’s indiscretion came out.

The “Wendy Williams Show” host had earlier opened up to viewers about checking into a sober house in New York to deal with alcohol and substance abuse addiction, but news of her husband fathering a child by his mistress reportedly tipped her over the edge.

A TOUGH CHOICE

Williams, 54, filed for divorce from her husband of over two decades last Thursday but according to the insider, it was not an easy choice.

“The decision to split was terribly hard for her, but she’s regaining her health,” revealed the source. “She decided she needed to finally put herself first.”

WENDY MOVING ON

Williams, who has been getting a lot of support since the divorce reports surfaced, also appears to be looking forward to life without Hunter, 47.

During Monday’s episode of her eponymous show, Williams alluded to the divorce while revealing that she’ll be moving out of the sober house soon.

“It’ll be Wendy on her own,” she said. “I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son [18-year-old Kevin Jr].”

HUNTER'S RESPONSE

Hunter also appeared to confirm all the cheating allegations when he broke his silence for the first time since the divorce news.

“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family, and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs. …I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal.”

“No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family,” he added. “And I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine.”
