Bradley Welsh, Acclaimed 'Trainspotting 2' Actor and Boxer, Dies at 42
"Trainspotting T2" actor and former boxer, Bradley Welsh, died after being shot near his home in Edinburgh’s West End.
As reported by Edinburgh News, officers rushed to Chester Street shortly after 8 pm. They found a critically injured man in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.
The road was closed off, and officers searched the area. One of the neighborhood residents, Alasdair Morton, said on Twitter that residents were told stay in their homes.
The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Welsh, who lived nearby. The local Police Department confirmed in a statement that Welsh passed away at the scene.
They added: "His death is being treated as suspicious and inquiries are continuing. Officers will continue to provide a high-visibility presence in the area to engage with the public and gather information that can assist with this investigation."
In addition, authorities ask that anyone with relevant information pertaining to the case, please contact the Police Department as soon as possible.
Welsh was a former British ABA Lightweight Boxing champion. He was also involved with the Helping Hands branch in Edinburgh.
