Tomi Lahren Calls Michelle Obama 'Tasteless' for Calling Trump a 'Divorced Dad'

Tomi Lahren is catching a lot of heat online after slamming the former first lady Michelle Obama for her recent comparison of Donald Trump to a “divorced dad.” The vocal conservative, who is no stranger to controversy or bashing Obama, also described the former first lady as “tasteless.”

During the London stop of her “Becoming” book tour, Obama, 55, adopted the analogy of a broken home to describe the reality of America.

"We come from a broken family," she said, according to The Independent. “We are a teenager where, you know, we're a little unsettled, you know, and having good parents, you know, is tough.”

“Sometimes you spend weekends with divorced dad, and that feels like it's fun, but then you get sick,” she added. “That's what America is going through. We're kind of living with divorced dad, right?”

The statement has since been dissected online with many deeming it an unfair picture of divorced or single dads. Last week, Obama’s comment was a topic of discussion on “Fox & Friends” where Lahren, 26, chimed in as a contributor.

“That’s okay, we all smiled watching you and your husband vacate the White House. Bye!”

"Well, I think Michelle Obama is becoming incredibly tasteless, and to use that kind of language to attack the president, I'm not very shocked or surprised by it," began the young conservative.

She continued:

“But I will say this: Can you imagine if a conservative would compare anyone to [a] single mom in a derogatory fashion? There would be outrage, there would be backlash, and it would be all over social media. But because Michelle Obama is Michelle Obama; she's a Democrat and she has the last name of Obama, she can get away with it. But really she's not just belittling Donald Trump; she’s belittling all those divorced dads and single dads out there that are doing a great job.”

Twitter users were not having it though, and many took the time to remind Lahren that President Trump is truly a divorced dad and that he’s been down that road not once, but twice.

“He is a divorced dad who didn’t give Tiffany any attention, didn’t raise Ivanka, Eric, or Junior, and never seen with Barron,” commented one Twitter user under a clip of Lahren’s comments. “Michelle is absolutely dead on with her analysis.”

“Well, he is twice divorced,” chimed in another. “Can't argue that, even in Trump's post-fact world.”

Lahren’s criticism of Obama also made headlines last year after the latter claimed in her bestselling memoir “Becoming” that she did not try to smile during Trump’s inauguration.

“Michelle Obama wrote she was unable to put on a happy face and smile during President Donald Trump's inauguration,” Lahren clapped back. “That’s okay, we all smiled watching you and your husband vacate the White House. Bye!”
