During the 1990's, there was an influx of Black movies that tried to portray the street life that was happening all over the United States. At the time, there were releases like "New Jack City" and "Boyz N the Hood," but one particular crowd favorite was "Menace II Society."

Menace was released in 1993, and featured the likes of Larenz Tate, Jada Pinkett Smith, Samuel L. Jackson, and at that time, a starting actor named Tyrin Turner. The film ended up raking in $27.9 million at the box office, which made it an instant hit and crowd favorite.

The movie revolved around Turner, who was just a fresh face in Hollywood at the time. Apart from the movie, he appeared on Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" video and a few other small time projects before finally landing the role of "Caine."

In the movie, he was a street savvy hustler who tried to contemplate living life on the streets or trying to make a name for himself.

25 Years Later

Although he was in a successful movie that could have kickstarted his career for him, things didn't go according to plan for Tyrin. He first wanted to try being a rapper, but when he eventually didn't excel at it, he switched to Hollywood.

Up until today, in 2019, Turner continues to work in Hollywood. He does films, videos, and even has some big projects in the near future. He continues to make himself active on social media to connect with other people, throwing it back with his favorite music along with his celebrity friends and family.

No matter where life took him, and while he didn't end up being on the big screens as much as he'd like to, Tyrin still remains to be a Hollywood staple and continues to get projects, which is a good thing for him. After all, at the end of the day, it is a blessing to be able to do what you love and earn from it.
