Angela Simmons Shares Tribute Photo after Her Grandma's Death

Angela Simmons is mourning the death of her maternal grandmother, just five months after her former fiancé, and the father of her child was shot and killed.

Angela and Vanessa Simmons took to social media on Monday to share the sad news of their grandma’s passing. Both sisters paid tribute to the matriarch of the family by sharing her photo.

HEARTFELT TRIBUTES

“Been in disbelief and denial all day that this is real. You will be missed Gramma,” Vanessa captioned her post.

Angela, who shared a pic of the lady holding her grandson Sutton Joseph Tennyson in her lap, added:

“Grandma…We are going to miss you so much…we love you.”

Simmons’ father, hip-hop icon Rev Run, also expressed his sadness over the passing of the mother of his wife, Justine Simmons.

“My mother in law passed today. Such a strong, classy lady,” he wrote. “To my mother in law…To my children’s grandmother to my wife’s mother and To the rest of her family and friends you meant so much to us all. May you rest and be blessed. Love you, mom.”

FANS’ REACTIONS

Fans of the “Growing Up Hip Hop” family took to the comment section to leave their condolences.

“Sending you love and light Angela. My deepest condolences for your loss” wrote one user.

Another added, “Praying for you and your family during this time, may you find peace, love, and light within one another..one love fam.”

And a third chimed in to say, “She was such an amazing woman. My prayers for you and your family.”

SECOND LOSS IN FIVE MONTHS

Simmons, 31, welcomed her son Sutton in September 2016 with her late ex-fiancé, Sutton Tennyson.

She called off the engagement in December of the same year, stating that although she tried to make the relationship work, it had become toxic and she had to walk away.

Tennyson, 37, was found lifeless inside an open garage at his Atlanta home on November 3, 2018.

According to reports, Tennyson got into an argument about money with another man, things escalated, and he received several gunshots. The man, later identified as Michael Williams, fled the scene in a car.

Williams surrendered himself to local police a few days after the shooting. However, he denied the murder allegations and insisted he didn’t pull the trigger.

Simmons revealed she was heartbroken by the news, sharing a series of pics of Tennyson with their son. “Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift. I’m hurting. I’m numb,” she wrote on Instagram.

And added:

“Thank you for the outpouring of love everyone. I can’t believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”
