NCIS fans are always expecting major shakeups on the show. Season 16, in particular, gave fans more than one shock.

First, viewers said goodbye to Pauley Perrette, who played forensic specialist Abby Sciuto. Then, Ducky was given a new title and there was growing concern that another longtime actor Sean Murray would be leaving the show.

Back in January, on "Toil and Trouble," the series hinted McGee might be departing the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The character had been head-hunted for a job that would offer him "a lot of money."

Then again on the episode, "Judge, Jury..." the show again teased that he might bid adieu to his team. Amid the fan speculation, Sean Murray decided to address the rumors.

"I’m under contract right now, so I have no plans to leave the show," said Sean. "I don’t think McGee’s going anywhere."

The announcement gave fans a breath of relief as they gear up for season 17. CBS announced the program's renewal earlier this year.

When Pauley Perrette left the show, fans were heartbroken. She shared photos from the final day of shooting after being with the show since its inception 15 years ago.

"Abby’s exit from #NCIS is in two parts. May 1 and May 8th. I worked really hard to give you my best. I really hope everyone tunes in. Bless," wrote Perrette on Twitter.

CBS also issued a statement saying that she was a valued member of NCIS and the CBS family. After the pain of losing her, fans are glad they won't be saying goodbye to any more characters any time soon.
