Losing a loved one could be one of the hardest things to get over. With each passing day, the memories of that person keep coming, and the hurt just grows on you.

Having a piece of memory of that person to hold on to, fulfilling their wish, or just honoring the life and time they lived is one way to help alleviate the pain, and that is what Antonette Frierson did for her brother, Antonio.

The late Antonio Frierson, aged sixteen was shot dead about two years ago by his friend, Micah Sanders, who was playing with a gun. Since then, the bereaved family has always honored Antonio year after year.

His sister, Antonette took it a step further when she made a unique and beautiful prom dress with her brother’s photos all over it. Antonette made the dress because she wanted to take Antonio to prom as it had always been his dream to go to prom before his life was cut short.

That dream can, however, be said to be a reality as he will be with his sister all through her prom night. The dress was designed by Mariah Jackson, the designer for Vivian Jackson, who herself has lost a loved one through gun violence.

Micah Sanders pleaded guilty to two charges of reckless homicide and dangerous possession of a firearm during his trial and spent some time in jail for killing Antonio. However, he recently went in violation of his community corrections sentence, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant for him.

Such news is sure to bring more pain to the Friersons, and this was echoed by Antonette, who lamented the fact that her brother’s killer was on social media and talking about his daily routine.

The family also believe that Antonio’s killing was never an accident as many think, it was rather intentional, as they think that no one can accidentally shoot another person in the forehead.

The family will come together on Saturday to celebrate Antonette’s special dress and her prom night and also specially honor the late Antonio.
