Meagan Good Doesn't Always Go to Church Because of Judgy Christians
While Meagan Good is known to be a faithful person, she reveals that she hasn't been attending church because of some judgemental churchgoers. "It's unfortunate," she says of the situation, as it hinders her from professing her faith.
Meagan Good has always been open about being a devout Christian, but she sadly doesn't attend church as much as she'd want to because she's received hate from some of her fellow churchgoers. When asked whether she attends church religiously, she responded saying:
“Not all the time though because if I’m being completely honest, my experience with some church folks has not been that positive. It’s unfortunate because we’re supposed to be the biggest lover. Even if you disagree with someone or you don’t think what they’re doing is right, you’re supposed to mind your own business and pray for that person. Other times, you’re supposed to correct in love if that’s what God told you to do. And there was no correction in love. It was like a complete assault.”
A Church full of hate?
Meagan revealed that while she's a devout Christian, people often judge her for the roles she portrays on television. She revealed that there are people who would come up to her and ask her to "cover up" because she's a married woman, and some so far as to judge her for doing sex scenes since she's a married woman.
However, the "Think Like a Man" star revealed that regardless of the hate she's received, she still loves her fellow Christians and the church.
“At the end of the day, for me, I still love Christians. I will always love the church. I love my Lord and Savior, period point blank. That’s first and foremost over everything. But even though I love some of those people, I have to love them from a distance because my spirit is too sensitive. And even though I’ve gotten to a place of balance, I’m the type of person, if I see someone crying, I’ll start crying. I’m extremely sensitive so I have to protect my spirit because those people don’t always know what they’re doing.”
Staying Faithful to God and Franklin
Recently, the upcoming "The Intruder" star was asked what the craziest thing she's ever done for love was. She revealed that it was celibacy.
While it seems as if it was something they both chose to do, Good clarified that she did it for her own "self-growth."
"Ultimately, I stayed in it because I felt like I wanted to do things God's way and I felt like I wanted to honor my marriage and I wanted to set us up to win and to do this thing once."
Now that she's married, though, Meagan reveals that she's ready to do anything for love.
