What's Happening!!' Actor Fred 'Rerun' Berry Has a Daughter Who Looks Just like Him

Fred Berry of the famous 1970 sitcom, “What's Happening!” is survived by three children. Portia Allen, his grown daughter, particularly bears a striking resemblance to him.

Actor and dancer, Fred Berry is perhaps best recognized for his portrayal of “Rerun,” and one of the lead characters in the popular television comedy series, “What's Happening!” Although Berry is long gone, devoted fans of the classic still remember him for his hilarious gimmicks on the show.

Three grown children survive Berry: DeShannon, Portia, and Freddy but Portia, “lady rerun” as she popularly calls herself, bears a very striking resemblance to the late star. She has a social media page filled with lots of photos of her full-figured self.

The photos have her looking so much like Berry; they have similar facial features like their noses and their round face structure. The youthful beauty seems to be doing well and is raising a family of her own.

She has two children whom she is always happy to show off on her Instagram. Portia has taken to building herself a career in the entertainment industry.

On her Instagram bio, @ladyrerun, she describes herself as:

“Owner of PK Business &Tax Services, actress, radio personality and the daughter of tv Icon/dance legend Fred Rerun Berry.”

Portia has featured in many commercial adverts. “I Love Old School Music” reports that she once starred in a TV commercial for a local auto insurance company which had her dancing along with some other people.

The bubbly beauty looked happy to be dancing like her father once did, but there is also the added suspicion that the company was manipulative.

Seeing as Fred Berry's fame seemed to diminish with time even before his death, her venturing into the industry has two sides to it. A significant number would agree that it is great she’s following her father's steps while some others would point out the fact that people may take advantage of her over time.

That is because it is a given that the entertainment industry doesn't exactly favor full-bodied women like Portia. You'd agree that there are just a few women like her in the industry and even they, sometimes suffer heavy criticism!

Still, Portia’s zeal to become an entertainer like her father shines through and hopefully; she will get her big break soon! She gets even that from her father who broke out into entertainment as a street dancer only to become widely popular for his skillful acting in “What's Happening!”
