Giving advice is wonderful, but not everyone accepts advice or finds it particularly useful! The two senior men in the funny story below certainly were not on the same wavelength with the giving and receiving of advice. Have a read and see what you think.

An old town banker saw his good friend Tom, an 80-year old rancher, in town one day. Tom had lost his wife a year or so before and rumor had it that he was marrying a 'mail order' bride.

Being a good friend, the banker asked Tom if the rumor was true. Tom assured him that it was. The banker then asked Tom for the age of his new bride-to-be.

Tom proudly said,

"She'll be 21 in November."

Now the banker, being the wise man that he was, could see that the physical appetite of a young woman could not possibly be satisfied by an 80-year-old man like himself or Tom.

Wanting his old friend's remaining years to be happy, the banker tactfully suggested Tom should consider getting a hired hand to help him out on the ranch, knowing nature would take its own course.

Tom thought this was a good idea and said he would look for one that afternoon.

About four months later, the banker ran into Tom in town again...

"How's the new wife?" asked the banker.

Tom proudly said, "Good, thanks - she's pregnant."

The banker, happy that his sage advice had worked out, continued, "And how's the hired hand?"

Without hesitating, Tom said,

"She's pregnant too."

Well, I bet the banker was not expecting that answer! Seems like Tom is doing just fine in his personal life and doesn't need any help! Share this one with your friends and see what they think.

In the true story of a 71-year-old man from Walassay, Wirral and his 23-year-old bride from the Cebu, Phillippines, the tale sounds surprisingly similar.

Lorie fe Dales was 18 when she was approached on Facebook by the retired entrepreneur, known only as Thomas, after he reportedly fell for her long dark hair and stated it was “love at first sight."

People refer to her as his "mail order bride," but the couple purports to be happy together and share a daughter, Mary, who is 3 years old.

Thomas spends around five months of the year with Lorie and their little girl and the rest of the time he lives in the UK.

The pair communicate through Skype and Dales is quick to point out that their ages don't matter to her, only that their family is content.

Good for them!
