Shaunie O'Neal Reacts to 'Fake' Friend Label Amid Tami Roman-Evelyn Lozada Drama
Shaunie O'Neal doesn't think she's a "fake" friend to Tami Roman and Evelyn Lozada, despite what people seem to think of her. She responds to these criticisms in the latest promotion for their hit TV show, and it finally puts all rumors to rest.
Shaunie O'Neal responded to Twitter comments that seemed to question her loyalty to her friends for the latest promotion for "Basketball Wives." According to Shaunie, who has been tagged as a "fake" friend for months now, she's simply "caught in the middle."
"I'm just innocently in the middle."
Caught in the middle
After receiving a comment that pegged her for laughing at jokes at the expense of both women, she said:
“Shady, phony, fake, plays both sides? No. No. Am I cool with everybody most of the time? Yes, I don’t really know how that makes me fake. My humor can be inappropriate at times, but that’s just me on an everyday basis. If it’s funny I’m going to laugh, friend or no friend.”
The 44-year-old, an executive producer of the hit reality TV show, said that she doesn't try to create drama between her two friends and that she's tried to get them to be friends multiple times despite it really not working out.
“First of all, what drama am I in? I just be listening. I wish people could break down exactly what drama I have been in the middle in. The only drama maybe that I’m in is Tami and Evelyn, and I didn’t start that [expletive]. I’m just innocently in the middle.”
Taking a turn for worse
Unfortunately for fans who hope they ever become friends again, Shaunie says their situation just keeps getting worse, that they can't even be in a room together. Tami can't even say Evelyn's name, referring to her as "the young lady."
“I try my best. I’ve tried for so many seasons to get these ladies to just be cordial, Currently just trying to get them to just be in the room together. Now we’ve resorted to not even doing that. Evelyn don’t even have a name out of Tami’s mouth. It’s ‘The Young Lady.’ We’re getting worse.”
Recently, Shaunie O'Neal was slammed for posting about loyalty, as fans think that she doesn't have that herself. To people, Shaunie "turned" on Tami Moran, who she used to be really close to until she started hanging out with Evelyn Lozada more.
Co-Star Drama
The "Basketball Wives" co-stars have been in a bit of a drama for years now, and it began when Tami revealed that Jennifer Williams told her that Evelyn Lozada slept with Shaunie's ex, Shaq.
In the end, it was O'Neal that ended up holding it against Roman, while continuing being friends with Lozada and Williams.
However, Shaunie made it clear that she is friends with all her co-stars and she's just caught up in a feud between Lozada and Roman.
