Paul Walker's Daughter Meadow, 27, Shares Sweet Moment with Godfather Vin Diesel at Cannes – Photos
Twenty-five years after a street-racing movie changed everything, a bald-headed man in a black t-shirt threw his arms open wide — and the daughter of his late best friend walked right into them.
The reunion happened on May 13, 2026, at the Cannes Film Festival, where Vin Diesel, 58, and Meadow Walker, 27, came together for a photo call celebrating the 25th anniversary of "The Fast and the Furious."

Meadow — the daughter of the late Paul Walker, who starred alongside Vin in the first seven films of the beloved franchise — had made the trip to France with what she clearly considers her extended family.

Vin kept it casual in an all-black t-shirt and white distressed jeans, while Meadow looked chic in a black blazer, blue jeans, and white kitten heels — both seemingly unbothered by the sea of cameras surrounding them.

The warmth between the two was impossible to miss. Vin held Meadow close, grinning broadly as cameras clicked all around them. Also present at the photo call were costars Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, rounding out what felt less like a press event and more like a family gathering.

Jordana later posted photos from the day to Instagram, captioning them, "Family portraits at @festivaldecannes. Not bad for 25 😇" — a playful nod to the franchise's milestone. Meadow was quick to respond in the comments, "Love you ❤️."

Fans watching online were moved by the sight of it all. "Looks like a real family," one viewer observed simply. "You can tell the bond between that cast goes way beyond just making movies together. Moments like that hit people emotionally because it feels genuine and personal," another reflected.

Others had their eyes on Meadow herself. "Oh she has grown up to be beautiful lady," one admirer gushed. "What a beautiful smile Meadow has! Paul would be so happy seeing them together. RIP Paul ❤️," another wrote wistfully.

The evening brought even more emotion. That night, Cannes hosted a midnight screening of the original 2001 "The Fast and the Furious" film — and Meadow made a rare red carpet appearance for the occasion, stunning in an olive green ribbed halter gown with ruffled detailing.

Before the screening began, Vin addressed the crowd — and made a point of calling out one person in particular. "The person who was not going to let me come alone here to represent that brotherhood was Meadow Walker," he told the audience, before adding, "I'm gonna go and shed a tear real quick."

The moment brought the house down. Vin had earlier told the crowd why the franchise endures:
"The only reason why we're making the finale for Fast for 2028 — it's because of each and every one of you that has given us your hearts and your loyalty. Each and every one of you that has felt like you are a part of our family. You make us have to continue. You make us want to make you all proud."
Then came the film itself. When the credits finally rolled, Vin didn't move. He sat pensive and still, staring at the screen. When the lights came up, he was overcome — standing silently for a long moment before finding his words. "I can't even believe you want to see me [expletive] cry," he admitted to the audience.

He spoke about Paul with unmistakeable tenderness, recalling how after every premiere, his costar would pull him aside. "No one else could be around. He didn't want to be around anyone else. He just would walk off with me and whisper into my ear, 'the best one's still in the can,'" he said.

Then he turned his attention to Meadow — who delivered her own speech with Vin by her side. "If I have anything I can say to all of you, it's that Meadow has been such a source of strength," Vin said, before telling her directly that her father "would be so proud" — wiping away tears as the audience erupted in applause.
The bond between godfather and goddaughter runs deep, and it has for years. When Paul died in a car accident in November 2013 at age 40 — while the seventh film in the franchise was still in production — Vin stepped into a role that went far beyond the movies.

He walked Meadow down the aisle when she married Louis Thornton-Allan in 2021, a gesture that spoke volumes about the family they had built in Paul's absence.
Vin opened up about her in an interview with Extra TV that same year, ahead of the release of "F9." "She takes good care of me, to be honest with you," he said warmly.

"You know, she's the first person on Father's Day to wish me a happy Father's Day," Vin continued. "To see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things. There are moments when I see her playing with Pauline and it will hit me so deep because I could only imagine what my brother is seeing when he sees that."
Fans who caught wind of the Cannes reunion were equally stirred by the relationship. "He really loves her as she was his own daughter! There are people you can trust and rely on when you need to!" one person declared.

Another put it poetically, "A father's friend, a daughter's guardian — cinema meets kinship. Paul's spirit lives on in every embrace. ✨"
"She has her father's eyes," one fan noted quietly. Another agreed, cheekily adding, "Let's just say she has her father's eyes... the rest it's the mother's 😁."

Paul was best known for playing Brian O'Conner across the "Fast and Furious" series. He was born in Glendale, California, in 1973, and appeared on shows like "Who's the Boss?" and "The Young and the Restless" as a teenager before breaking through with films like "Varsity Blues" and "She's All That."
Meadow has honored his memory in tangible ways since he passed. In 2015, she founded the Paul Walker Foundation, dedicated to carrying forward her father's passions for ocean conservation, wildlife protection, and humanitarian work. She also made a brief onscreen appearance in 2023's "Fast X" — her own quiet tribute to the franchise that defined his legacy.
The next chapter of that legacy, "Fast Forever," is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. It will be the 11th and final film in the franchise. For now, though, it was enough to be in Cannes — together, embracing, tears and all. As one viewer captured it best, "Paul's spirit lives on in every embrace. ✨"
