On Monday morning, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson took to social media to post an image of himself and one of his daughter. Unfortunately, the actor had to delete the image after facing criticism.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, 46, was slammed for posting an image of his daughter Jasmine, 3. The little girl is one of his daughters with partner Lauren Hashian, 34. Their other child is Tiana Gia, 1.

In the image, Jasmine was pictured sitting on the side of a swimming pool without clothes on. She appeared ready to jump into the water where her father was waiting to catch her.

Around more than 2.9 million people liked the Instagram photo within the first two hours it was posted. However, Johnson deleted it not long afterward after people criticized him for posting a photo of his daughter without her bathing suit on.

One person questioned: “Why is she naked though?” While another chirped in writing: “I love the Rock but this pic isn’t necessary for social media.”

Someone else added: “They made bathing suits for a reason.” Another social media pointed out the safety issue with sharing an image like that on social media.

The person wrote:

“I'd never post a pic of my child naked in a pool on social media...I understand the message that is being conveyed but there are some messed up people out there.”

An Instagram user wanted to know: “Why would you expose a young child’s body to millions of people?” However, there was a separate group that felt the image was being sexualized unnecessarily.

Someone noted:

“Those who are sexualizing this picture of his daughter because she is swimming with no clothes on obviously don’t know what it’s like to grow up in the islands or in a Polynesian house hold. This is very normal and not sexual in any way with our culture.”

On April 17, the actor shared a much safer and less controversial image where he celebrated his daughter’s first birthday. The photo showed little Tiana Gia sitting with him as he held her tiny hands up.

He captioned the image writing:

“Happy 1st Birthday to our strong lil’ beauty, Tiana Gia. Get used to daddy’s hands kid ~ they’ll always have your back. #puamana.”
