Tyler Perry's Longtime Love Gelila Has a Gorgeous Mane of Curls in Stunning Pic

Gelila Bekele is a natural beauty, and she has fans in awe with every new pic shared on her Instagram account. She’s mostly addressed as Tyler Perry’s longtime girlfriend and the mother of her son, but she’s much more than that, and her humanitarian work proves it.

Gelila Bekele is a model, documentary filmmaker, activist, and proud Ethiopian.

For the past decade, she has been raising awareness about the life of little girls in rural localities in her native country and the struggles they face day after day because of the lack of clean water in their communities.

NATURAL BEAUTY

Bekele is all about women’s empowerment, and among her messages, embracing your natural beauty is a recurring one.

Her wild natural curly mane is a point of fascination for everyone who encounters her page, as shown in a recent pic she shared to Instagram. In the shot, Gelila is donning a green top with white daisies, and as she stares intently to the camera, her curls steal all the attention.

“Omg your hair is crazy gorgeous I love it,” wrote one fan. And a second one agreed: “Your hair is freaking amazing!!”

MORE THAN JUST A PRETTY FACE

Gelila recently attended the Cannes Festival to introduce “Mai: Life is not Honey,” a 22 min short documentary following a day in a life of young girls in a rural village of Ethiopia.

The documentary, alongside with the 2016 photography book “Guzo” gives people an insight scope on the lives on different tribes in Ethiopia, from their customs, culture, traditions and religious practices – to their dwellings, agricultural work and the startling landscape upon which they roam.

On top of her creative contributions, Gelila also works hard on-site, continually traveling between Ethiopia and the U.S to help canalize the aid that reaches her home country through different organizations, like Charity Water.

PROTECTIVE PARENTS

Bekele has been dating screenwriter and director Tyler Perry for almost a decade now. They first met in a 2007 Prince concert, and Perry confessed that when Bekele entered the room, he was immediately drawn to her.

The couple welcomed their son Aman in 2014, and although they keep the boy entirely out of the spotlight and try to no discuss details of their family life publicly, Perry confessed to the ladies of “The Real” in 2017 that Aman changed his life.

“All the clichés are real. He really has changed my life,” Perry said.

And added:

“He’s so beautiful and strong and amazing. And he’s a healer for me because I look at him and see myself as a little boy. And I’m able to give him all the love and all the things that I never had.”

The “Madea” creator also gushed about Gelila in a different interview, admitting that “there’s no other person on this planet that I would want to be involved with or have a child with because she’s amazing.”
