Paula Deen’s Throwback Photo of 'Paula's Home Cooking' Makes Fans Nostalgic
Paula Deen shared an epic throwback photo on social media, and brought up nostalgic feelings in her fans; they also had kind words for her.
The self-proclaimed queen of Southern cooking, Paula Deen, had a massive throwback on Instagram.
Deen shared with her fans a picture of the kitchen where she shot her cooking show which used to air on the Food Network. In it, tripod cameras stood in the background, and the former host, sat on a chair with her name inscribed on it.
In the caption of the photo, Deen asked her followers if any of them remembered the kitchen from her cooking show, and the question brought up a lot of nostalgic feeling.
One follower wrote,
“Loved the show; no other can replace it. Love your spirit and love of family and food.”
Another wrote,
“I miss your show so much; Food Network is just not the same these days.”
Others reiterated the same, writing on how they wished Deen’s cooking show was still on and how much they miss seeing her on Saturday morning. The mother-of-two lost her show in 2013 after the network it aired on chose not to renew it.
At the time, the Food Network didn't give any reason, but there were speculations that the decision arose because the southern chef was facing a discrimination suit for using a racist comment against a former employee.
Deen at the time admitted she was guilty of the allegation levied against her, and despite losing her show, the former TV star was able to bounce back.
The Savannah resident had always overcome setbacks beginning with recovering from anxiety attacks after her parents died when she was 23.
After that, Deen started her catering business with the help of her sons and has not looked back since. The former cooking show host has written about fourteen cooking books and sold over 11 million copies.
Apart from cooking, the author is also a grandmother; in 2018, her son, Bobby Deen, and his wife, Claudia, welcomed triplets, and although they came four months earlier, the former TV personality said at the time that they were healthy.
The grandmother is also the wife of a former tugboat captain, Michael Grover, and she once said that meeting him was an answer to her prayers.
The couple recently celebrated their 15th anniversary, they are committed to each other, and to spending the rest of their lives together.
