Venus Williams & Much Younger Boyfriend Nicky Hammond Have Allegedly Split: Report

After rumors of Venus Williams and her younger boyfriend Nicky Hammond being engaged circulated last year, it seems their relationship took a turn for worse as they ended up calling it quits.

While Venus Williams and Nicky Hammond were never so public about their relationship in the first place, it seems only fitting that they kept their separation under wraps, too.

However, fans are still shocked to see the news especially since they've been one another's dates for more than two years.

In fact, Hammond was Venus' date to her sister Serena Williams' wedding to Alexis Ohanian back in November 2017.

Different Priorities

According to sources from Page Six, the two remain good friends despite their separation. However, they had to go their separate ways because their age gap had them prioritizing different things from one another.

Hammond, who is part of the Annenberg family that once owned TV Guide and Seventeen, is reportedly more than a decade younger than Venus, which means he is still trying to enjoy his youth.

Meanwhile, Venus, who turned 39 last June 17, is reportedly looking for something a lot more stable and is looking to settle down soon.

“They dated for two years and have broken up. It’s not because they don’t love each other, they do. They are still friends," the source said.

Only a Rumor

In April 2018, Venus and Nicholas were rumored to be engaged after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring after her Miami Open defeat.

While she ended up losing to a newcomer, she was definitely still winning at life at the time, enjoying her romance with the magazine scion.

The pair was spotted out and about on Easter Sunday, walking hand-in-hand with one another. In early 2018, she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her finger, right after she brought Nicky along to Australia for one of her tournaments.

Though it turns out her diamond ring was just one of her many accessories, people were hopeful that Venus would find her "happily ever after," too, just like her sister Serena.
