Venus Williams, 37, sparks engagement rumors as she was spotted kissing boyfriend

Straight from her recent defeat, the tennis pro rushes into the arms of the man now rumored to be her fiance.

She may have lost to a newcomer during the Miami Open, but Venus Williams still has a lot to celebrate according to the Inquisitr, one of which is her relationship with her boyfriend Nicholas Hammond which reportedly took a serious turn recently when she was spotted sporting a diamond ring.

The 37-year-old tennis player failed to bag the Miami Open title this year despite the fact that she beat her younger sister Serena Williams who was making a comeback since taking a hiatus after giving birth to her first child. Succeeding through the quarterfinals, she was later defeated by 24-year-old Danielle Collins, a relative newcomer who won two sets straight with a 6-2, 6-2 score.

In defeat Venus acknowledged the fact that Collins “played very well, aggressively” to ESPN after the game. She told the sports channel,

“She went for every shot and they landed. There are days when they don’t, and that wasn’t today.”

Because it was also Easter weekend, the celebrated tennis pro decided to jet off to New York to be with her beau instead of sulk in her loss. A source for Page Six reported she was spotted “waking back from a workout with her beefy beau” on Sunday afternoon. The source added,

“Sporting a backpack and silver Olympic gear, Williams was photographed crossing the street hand in hand with the 25-year-old.”

It seemed the two missed each other so much they even locked lips in the open, a rare sight for the couple who’ve kept their relationship under the radar. Venus has always been very private about her romantic life. Her Instagram posts would often feature her career but never the men she dates. Likewise, Nicholas is also known to be a private man despite being the heir to Walter Annenberg’s TV Guide fortune.

It was only in early 2018 that the public got wind of their romance when Venus brought Nicholas along to Australia for one of her tournaments. Not long after, she was spotted wearing a diamond band on her ring finger, sparking rumors of their engagement. Though the rumors were never substantiated, the fact that she brought Nicholas as her date to Serena’s wedding in September last year was an indication of the depth of their relationship.

To this day, there has been no confirmation regarding their relationship or their engagement for that matter but their recent actions speak for itself.
