Mary J. Blige Shows Real Love for Cardi B after BET Award Win over Beyoncé & Jay-Z

While people were slamming Cardi B for winning Album of the Year at the BET Awards over Beyonce & Jay-Z and a lot of other worthy artists, Mary J. Blige thinks it's only fitting she won it. A reporter caught up with the rapper after the Awards Show, and she didn't hold back in sharing her thoughts.

This year's BET Awards nominees for Album of the Year all deserve the award, which is why they all got nominated in the first place. However, there was one artist that stood out from the rest, mainly because she's had multiple chart-topping hits, and has gone on tour for the past couple of months with multiple sold out shows. That's Cardi B.

On Cardi B's Award

As she left the event that night after bagging the Lifetime Achievement Award, Mary let TMZ know her thoughts about Cardi getting the highly coveted award over the other nominees, which included Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Ella Mai, and Beyonce and Jay-Z themselves.

"She deserves that [expletive] Cardi is my [expletive.] She's amazing, God Bless Cardi."

Explosive Performances

While she made sure to congratulate her friend on her achievement, Mary J. Blige was iconic herself, as she performed a couple of songs that night with the best surprise guests. She performed alongside Lil Kim for "I Can Love You," and Method Man for their song "All I Need," which made fans go crazy over how Method Man seems to have not aged through the years.

His rare appearance at the BET Awards had people thirsty over him, starting conversations on the internet about how he seems to be aging backward as he is still handsome as ever.

After her performances, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul left the star-studded event in Hollywood with her Lifetime Achievement award, the -nth recognition she's received this year.
