Puppy Almost Starves after Being Illegally Dumped with a Chair and TV
Abandoned by its owner(s), a puppy was found sitting on an armchair at the roadside of Brookhaven, Mississippi.
The state of Mississippi has existing regulations against the improper treatment of pet animals such as dogs and cats.
The law is known as the "Assistance Animal and Guide Dog Laws." It emphasizes regulations against the cruel treatment of pet animals, dangerous animal pets and their owners, laws about pet's health, safety, and welfare, amongst several other regulations.
However, animal control officer, Sharon Norton who works with a Police Department in Brookhaven reported on Monday, the 24th of June 2019 to have been informed about a lonely dog that sat by the roadside on an armchair.
The visibly starving looking dog appears to have been abandoned for reasons unknown. Sharon commented about the event on her Facebook page. She said,
"I got a message this morning to go check out this dog that's in the chair, this is what I pulled up and seen… To the person that dumped this chair, your puppy was waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food. Shame on you for doing this to this puppy… one-day karma will meet up with you."
After Sharon's post, different people shared several comments about how cruel the owner of the puppy must be. Some people even asked to foster the puppy.
A heavily moved individual commented on the post saying,
"It is heartbreaking that anyone can do this to a soul of any kind. I'm glad he had a hero show up to help him."
Considering the crime committed against the puppy, there's no expectation that the owner would turn up and lay claim on the dog.
However, the dog has been rescued from "starving to death." It will be adequately cared for and placed in a shelter for adoption.
So many people have since shown interest in the puppy and no doubt, he will find a loving home, where he will be properly fed daily and cared for.
