Take a Look inside Jackie O’s 340-Acre Farm That Her Daughter Put on Sale for $65 Million
The only surviving child of former US President John F. Kennedy and his widow Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is selling a property that has been in the family for 40 years.
61-year-old Caroline Kennedy has put the Martha’s Vineyard estate she inherited from her mother “Jackie O” when she passed away in 1994 to sale after getting a feeling that it was time to “move on to something new.”
Caroline spent many summers with the three now-grown children she shares with her husband Edwin Schlossberg at the 340-acre Red Gate Farm, but now she is after her own thing and is ready to hand the property to someone else.
PASSING IT ON
“We hope that a new family will treasure this place as we have for three generations. We are excited about the next chapter for Red Gate Farm,” the former US Ambassador in Japan said about her decision.
The oceanfront property is now on the market for the sum of $65 million, as Caroline is set to follow the example of her mother and “create [her] own worlds.”
With a more than a mile of private beach, a boating house, a pool, and a tennis court, Red Gate Farm certainly will make the perfect getaway for whoever lucky enough to purchase it.
JACKIE O’S CREATION
Red Gate Farm was definitely Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s creation, considering that when she bought the land in 1979 after the passing of her second husband for $1.1 million there was only a hunting shed in there.
“The dunes and ponds and rolling hills of Aquinnah gave her the chance to create a world where she could be so close to nature, close to her family and friends, and, most importantly, close to her beloved books,” Caroline shared.
PROPERTY SPECIFICATIONS
Nowadays there is a 6,456-square-foot main residence with five bedrooms and two offices, apart from an outdoor deck facing the Atlantic.

With a more than a mile of private beach, a boating house, a pool, and a tennis court, Red Gate Farm certainly will make the perfect getaway for whoever lucky enough to purchase it.
Also, the secluded nature of the compound will grant privacy to the wealthy future dwellers of the estate.
