Iman Reveals What She Misses the Most about Late Husband David Bowie
Supermodel Iman opened up about what she misses the most about her late husband, David Bowie, during one of her most recent interviews.
While Iman was set to talk about her thriving beauty business, she couldn't help but say a few words about her husband, the legendary musician David Bowie, and how he's impacted her craft.
According to the supermodel-turned-entrepreneur, her brand would have been a deferred dream if her husband didn't push her to go for it.
"He literally did not understand fear. He was in my corner cheering me on every step of the way. If it wasn't for him, I would never have done it."
On Missing Bowie
Of course, speaking about her husband in public was not easy for her to do, especially since she misses him every day after he passed away. When asked what she'd miss about him the most, she shared:
“His sense of humor—he made me laugh every day. He was a very curious person, so he made all of us very curious about everything in life.”
A Private Person
Through the years, Iman has been known to be extremely private about her personal life, in hopes of protecting her family. When given the idea of writing a memoir, Iman ultimately shut it down and said that while she has nothing to hide, she would rather keep her privacy.
As for what she'd like to be remembered by, she wants to be remembered as the woman who stood against all injustices, whether it be for business or charity.
“I did not stay on the side, and I did not waste what was given to me. I stumbled into my life. I was not looking to be a model. I was not looking to be in America. But with that came a lot of responsibility. And so that will be my legacy. I stood up.”
Iman and David
A real changemaker, Iman was never afraid of the criticism she and her husband David Bowie faced. In fact, even after his death, she would continue to commemorate him and celebrate the milestones in their marriage and in their lives.
David and Iman have been married for 27 years now, when they decided to have a private wedding in Lausanne, Switzerland back in 1992.
Sadly, their love story was cut short in January 2016 when David passed away from liver cancer. Since then, Iman has been trying to preserve his memory on social media as much as she can.
