35-year-old Brody Jenner shared his true feelings about his 69-year-old father TV personality Caitlyn Jenner on the July 1 episode of “The Hills: New Beginnings,” when the cast members discussed growing up with famous parents.

In the middle of a group dinner with Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson’s son Brandon Lee, Shaquille O’Neal’s son Myles and Steve McQueen’s grandson Chase, Brody opened up about how little he saw of Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce, in his childhood.

“I didn’t really grow up with my dad. When I was really little we got to spend a little time. When he started, obviously, the family with the Kardashian family, I didn’t really see much of him,” Brody told co-star Frankie Delgado.

Brody, who was just 3 years old when Caitlyn divorced his mother Linda Thompson in 1986, went into detail about the up and downs of his distant relationship with his father during the confessional.

“She's way happier as Caitlyn and that's ultimately the most important thing. That's awesome. She's off living her life. What I've learned not to expect too much from her.”

“Bruce was never really around. Every so often, maybe once every couple years. Wasn't around for my graduation. Wasn't around for most of most of my birthdays so, yeah, it really wasn't any relationship. It was very surface,” he said.

While Brody acknowledged that “eventually” the two started to become closer, he expressed that after his father’s transition from Bruce to Caitlyn things changed drastically.

“I was just getting to know Bruce and then Bruce became Caitlyn. Caitlyn is a totally different person than Bruce. It's her true self but Bruce was always holding a lot back and being somebody totally different,” Brody added.

Although he seems to be genuinely glad that Caitlyn finally came to be her true self, Brody couldn’t hide his disappointment.

Brody’s comments about Caitlyn were made a year after the latter failed to attend the former’s wedding to Kaitlynn Carter in Bali, Indonesia, reportedly due to having “work commitments that [had] been set up for months.”

Apart from Brody, Caitlyn shares 38-year-old Brandon with Thompson. Before marrying Thompson, Caitlyn was married to Chrystie Scott until 1981, and they have 40-year-old son Burton and 39-year-old daughter Cassandra together.

Caitlyn’s most famous children are her two daughters with third wife Kris: 23-year-old Kendall and 21-year-old Kylie, famous for their involvement in “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” since 2007.

During a recent visit to “Good Morning America,” Caitlyn admitted that she hadn’t seen much of her six children since her 2015 transition.

“I always wonder because I don't see them as much as I used to see them, obviously, and so you wonder is that because of what I went through or just because, you know what, I raised wonderful kids,” Caitlyn stated.

“From the beginning, entrepreneurial, be smart, this is a business, you got to treat it like a business. All of them have gone out, have kids. I've got 11 grandchildren now, have children, have successful jobs,” she continued.

“They travel all over the world. That's also the reason why I don't see them quite as much as any parent feels the exact same way," Caitlyn concluded.
