Television star Simon Cowell’s vegan diet is yielding visible results.
“So I changed certain things in my life and now, yeah, touch wood, I do feel happier than I’ve been in years."
The music mogul’s trimmer figure was noticeable as he showed up at the event wearing a white open-necked shirt.
Cowell is believed to have dropped 20 pounds after embarking on a vegan diet.
He was one of the celebrity guests at the glamorous party held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in Knightsbridge. He came to the party with his girlfriend, New York socialite Lauren Silverman.
Cowell made the decision to go on a vegan diet after landing in the hospital in October 2017. He had fainted while going down the stairs, an incident blamed on his low blood pressure.
After that incident, Cowell has cut down on alcohol and reduced the number of cigarettes he smokes a day.
“I went to see this guy who's very well-known. And he said to me, after doing some blood work, ‘You can't have red meat, dairy, sugar, bread or gluten,’” he said in a recent interview.
The talent show judge has many reasons to stay healthy, foremost of which is his five-year-old son, Eric, with Silverman.
“So I changed certain things in my life and now, yeah, touch wood, I do feel happier than I’ve been in years. Both Eric and Lauren are a big part of that,” he said.
The couple met in Barbados in 2006, during which Silverman was still married. After divorcing her then-husband for adultery in 2013, Silverman gave romance another chance with Cowell.
Their son was born on Valentine’s Day in 2014. Silverman’s older son, Adam, stays with her ex-husband in Manhattan.
Cowell, Silverman and their young son live in New York City, but she also spends time with Adam on some days.
