Dolly Parton Shares Gorgeous Throwback Photo of Her Early 30s Wearing a Semi-Sheer Ruched Dress
The Country Music star celebrated the anniversary of one of her most successful albums by sharing a vintage photo of her younger self on social media.
73-year-old singer and actress Dolly Parton took to her Instagram account to delight her many fans with a throwback photo that was used for the cover art of her 1978 album “Heartbreaker.”
The album arrived at its 41st anniversary on July 17, and the “Queen of Country” wasn’t going to let it go unnoticed.
A GIFT FOR HER FANS
“Happy birthday, Heartbreaker!” the “Jolene” singer captioned the image that pictured her back in her thirties posing in a pink dress with one leg up in a revealing pose.
Parton’s followers didn’t take long to react to her post, which was liked by more than 100.000 people in the first 24 hours.
With more than 60 records released during her career of more than 50 years, Parton never ceases to be relevant. The singer was recently requested by rapper Nas X to join him for a remix of his hit song “Old Town Road.”
Some took to the comments section to praise Parton for her looks. Others expressed their unconditional love for the star. And others opted to share their appreciation for “Heartbreaker.”
“A beauty from day one,” someone wrote. “Sassy and classy as always,” someone else said, adding some heart emojis. “My favorite Dolly album!” another user expressed.
A person used the opportunity to credit the author of the image, photographer Ed Caraeff. “Two special artists – Dolly and Ed!” the person commented.
CONQUERING THE POP CHARTS
“Heartbreaker” was Parton’s twentieth solo studio album, and it continued her efforts to conquer the pop charts as she was on her way to becoming a successful crossover artist.
The album included a song by the same title, written by Carole Bayer Sager, and it went on to become Parton’s third top-forty pop hit.
“Heartbreaker, wish that I had seen that love was blind/ Sweet little love maker/ Takin’ my heart and leave me behind/ Heartbreaker couldn’t you be/ Just a little more kind to me,” went the chorus of the single.
“Baby I’m Burning,” with a strong disco music influence, was another popular cut from the album, performing quite well in the charts. Along with “Heartbreaker” is considered to be one of Parton’s top love songs.
A HIP HOP COLLABORATION ON THE WAY
With more than 60 records released during her career of more than 50 years, Parton never ceases to be relevant. The singer was recently requested by rapper Nas X to join him for a remix of his hit song “Old Town Road.”
“Y’all think I can get Dolly Parton and [rapper] Megan Thee Stallion on an old town road remix?” Nas X tweeted as a way to publicly invite Parton to collaborate.
In what has been interpreted as a “yes,” Parton replied with a variation of the “Old Town Road” album cover that included a third bright pink stallion with blonde hair as a symbol of the singer.
